'nuttyfix' 25/03/10 by Cybershark (email@example.com) Cupboard and I threw the ZDS regulars a bone this week with a Magical Mystery ZDS. That meant that whoever replied first in the thread with a sensible suggestion for the week's session jumped straight to the front of the queue. Shockingly Ronald wasn't in there first with calls for one of his monstrosities, instead LordBritish called for none other than Nutty. He kinda had a point after us doing 130-odd sessions with only one trip to n" in all that time. I like to go the extra mile with most of the stuff we run, and definitely when it's some of my own! So I went to task on everything that could be cleaned up or improved in the WAD. I still always think of it in the back of my mind as raw-as-hell and this did prove to be the case in a couple of my maps which had outrageous noobie mapper errors. But they always worked and most of them are magic just the way they are. So there's not all that much changed: Map08 'The Vortex' - increased map area and complexity to better cope with larger numbers of players - this is the only radical change I've made in the maps. It's also a bit better looking now. Map22 'Pitch into the Ditch' - not actually my map to mess with but there were a couple of major flaws here. Due to an oversight by Herr Milian it was possible to jump out of the gameplay area. The other problem was the movement speed of the central area which got real messy on servers. Should be fixed now. Map27 'Skyscraper Caper' - tidied up all my newbie mapper errors, made the buildings a bit more diverse in height, added some new bits of decoration and most importantly I didst fix the door speeds which would leave them only half closed. Aside from that then it was just a bit of a spruce up. Threw in everybody's favourite palette, added splashy terrain, tidied up lighting, fixed skies and replaced some graphics. Thanks to everyone who ever took time to enjoy our happy tree friend, and here's to another 5years of Nuttyness!!
