Title : Gehenna
Filename : gehenna.WAD
Author : MacDuff Knox
Email Address : dknox@alchemy.chem.utoronto.ca
Misc. Author Info : This is a collection of five of my wads goin from levels 26 to 30
of Doom II. These are all levels designed from scratch, and some
of them are very big. The order is:
Level 26 - Towers of Gehenna, a very large castle with a
moat and lots of nasties.
Level 27 - Canyon of Gehenna, the Hopi indians never had
homes like these (find the cathedral, I'm very proud of it)
Level 28 - Run Like Hell (also posted as runlkhel.wad). This
was my first level, and was designed for DOOM I, and so
does not have all the bad guys, but it still plays pretty
well.
Level 29 - Fastness of Gehenna. Be very, very careful before
you go wandering through the halls of this one.
Level 30 - Arena of Gehenna. Find and kill that big bad
Demon before you are up to your neck in bad guys. This is a
large fairly open arena, as the name suggests, so it
shouldn't be too hard to find him.

Description (I wrote
this for the Fastness
of Gehenna, so it only
applies to that one,
but I liked it so I
thought I would include
it) : You enter into a short, high ceilinged corridor, you can hear
breathing all around. They are everywhere! Just in front of
you is a sergeant, stationed to guard the entrance to this
otherwordly redoubt, but at the moment he is facing the other
way, no doubt bored guarding an entrance which he knows no
sane being would ever use. You must be careful killing him
though, a missed shot could set off the barrels lining the
wall and bring the whole place down on you.
You take a deep breath and step up behind him. Grabbing
his head you twist quickly, snapping his neck, and maintaining
the silence you know you need, but you didn't take into account
the heavy shotgun which slipped from his nerveless fingers. A loud
clang rings over the background of monstrous breathing. A sudden
silence ... then ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE.

Additional Credits to : Steve Coulber and Mark Brownell for play testing, and of course
  ID for QUAKE!!

Misc. Author Info : This is my fourth wad, but the first for quite a while.
The only other one posted was runlkhel.wad. I suppose I
went a little overboard with this one, because I was
trying out a few things, and everytime I went in to debug
stuff, I put in some new rooms to try out more things. The
result is a very large level. As far as I can see it is very
playable, but not at all easy. It also tends to grind on
slower systems, although it plays fine on my 486-66.
