Author Notes            : The authors of GunX return to bring the
                          first of the Urban Nightmare levels to you.
                          We needed an official level set to go with
                          this patch!  These can be run without GunX now!

Story                   : It had been 14 hours since HQ lost contact with
                          the city's defense base.  It was thought to be a
                          comm glitch, but when contact wasn't reestablished
                          they figured out it was something more.  Much more.
                          So they sent a recon plane.  It never came back.
                          So they sent in your squad.  Your escorts were
                          shot down.  Your drop ship hit the dirt hard, the
                          systems burnt out.  Your team went ahead to clear
                          the LZ, while you secured the ship.  They died within
                          seconds.  Only you and the bridge crew survived.  You
                          have your trademark dual pistols, but you'll need more bang
                          if you're going to get out of this one.  Your mission:
                          Infiltrate the base.  Discover what happened to it.
  Get to the city.  Recon it.  We need to know what happened.
                          Then get the Hell out of there.  

Level notes             : These levels are big with lots of stuff.  It even has
                          some realistic places.  I think I went overboard
                          on the enemies.  In the final version, it won't have
                          as many things.

Misc.                   : My original design of this level was much more 
                          complex, but I had trouble rebuilding the nodes when
                          the vertices went over 1000.  A PIECE OF ADVICE
                          TO PROSPECTIVE WAD BUILDERS.  You might want to
                          keep your creative urges in check enough that
                          you don't make your levels too big, this one
                          gave me many headaches.  I had to scale some
                          of the level down and take out a few parts.

Warning                 : These are part of GunX.  They play best with it since
                          you'll have real weapons, but it works without it now.

* Construction *

Base                    : New level from scratch
Construction time       : Map 01 - One year and a half...sounds extreme, but we have
                           been putting this off for a while.  Actual time is
                           about 400 hours, give or take 50.  This was our
                           first REAL level.  This level was around before GunX was even
  Map 02 - 2 months, with a whole bunch of delays and pushbacks.
   But I think 200 hours is a good guess.
                          Map 03 - 2 months, more delays and stupid people.
  Map 04 - Too long...only one person does these!
   Author's Note: This map was impossible to make work.  This map
   is the third version of Map04, all the others were too
   large, so I have to redo it until it worked.  Damned Linedefs.
                          Map 31 - 1 month, with people screwing the process
                           up...I can't tell you the build time, since I don't
  Map 05 - About a week of constant work.  This one went
   by pretty fast.

Known Bugs              : I originally made these levels much more complex than
                          they currently are, but the Doom engine loves to bitch about
  too many sidedefs/lines visable, so there is a chance that a map
  might crash if you get in the wrong spot (Urban4...).  So I 
  reduced the complexity.  No real bugs, aside from that.
                          There is some HOM from the size of the levels, just
                          pretend its not there.

are the property of their original creators.

Authors may use this level as a base to build additional
