STARGFX.TXT  -- RE: STARGFX.WAD

This WAD contains replacements for some of the sprites (monsters, etc)
for DOOM by Id Software.

------------------------------------------------------------------

This WAD was created using DMADDS and multiple Star Wars
graphic (sprite) patches prodcued by:

Philip, p.magnussen@auckland.ac.nz - Storm Troopers (Seargents)
Mike C.  (thomas@ug.cs.dal.ca)              - Probes (Cacodaemons)
Mike C. (thomas@ug.cs.dal.ca) - Interrogator Droids (Lost Souls)
Mike C.  (thomas@ug.cs.dal.ca)
& Adam F. (farrell@ug.cs.dal.ca) - Royal Guards (Barons of Hell)
Jeff Johnston (brunner@gas.uug.arizona.edu) - Laser Beams (Rockets)

As noted above, this WAD changes the following sprites:

Seargents      ->    Stormtroopers
Lost Souls -> Interrogator Droids (on the DeathStar in Star Wars)
Cacodaemons -> Black Probes (from Empire Strikes Back)
Barons of Hell -> Emporer's Royal Guards (red guards in Return of the Jedi)
Rockets        ->    Red Laser Beams
                        - Rocket explosions to puffs of smoke
                        - Crates of rockets now say 'Imperial Bolts'
                        - Single rocket is now a lightning bolt

I've created nothing new in the WAD. I just simply made it easier to use.
Many thanks to the guys who've done all the REAL work on the Star Wars
stuff for DOOM.

I issue no new copyright on this stuff, but the author of the pieces I've
put together may have, so check thoroughly before doing anything else with
this.

I apologize for the large size (2.3M unzipped, 1.2M zipped), but this is
basically a hack. It could be done much smaller (this file includes ALL
of the sprites for DOOM, not just the ones that are changed), but I didn't
have time.

Enjoy!

DOOM on!
