WADs in Doom 2, VAVOOM
The Awful Apocalypse
Earth has been hit by a meteor possibly as strong as the one that killed off the dinosaurs. This impact made a huge hole that went into the depths of the Earth, causing demons to come to the surface and cause more havoc than the meteor. You must kill off all the demons and find a way to seal the hole that let the demons up here.
A big brown-yellow complex, with some outdoor areas. Also a non-linear map (if the action is too hard, try another route). I've tried some fake 3D effects, and also some Boom features -translucent walls, deep water-. This map follows a similar style to my previous wad "Hachisch", but with a more solid theme, and some new textures.
Hell's Ambiance is a compilation of unnerving ambient tracks to give Doom that extra spooky atmosphere if you are tired of the PSX Doom or Doom 64 track set. It features 18 tracks from Kevin MacLeod's royalty free set while the rest is supplemented by Jaxxoon R's Dark Ambient Pack (also on /idgames/) to give maximum tension. This set replaces primarily Doom 2 but advanced ZDoom based ports can utilize the $musicalias so it replaces Doom tracks as well.
*This wad is playable with any control scheme, but it was designed for mouselook and WASD, with no jumping or crouching* There have been reports of a demonic presence deep below the earth, killing everyone in the underground UAC facility nearby. You and your squad have been sent to investigate the presence. You will have to fight your way through the caverns, the long buried ruins, and finally the UAC facility itself to get to the heart of the presence and put an end to it.
Mescalina / Mescaline
Lacking time and ideas, I decided to build a small and simple level. In the end, though, the map has turned not so small and simple, and I believe that it'll keep you playing 20-30 minutes. I didn't want to make another futurist map about invaded UAC bases and all the other commonplaces. So I improvised something with Doom's organic textures and a trippy sky. The result is maybe a little shocking, but if you've pla- yed my other maps Hachisch and Peyote you'll recognize fast the style. Be warned: this map is named "Mescaline", but it plays more like cocaine...
