Extensive testing done with vanilla Doom2, Zdoom, PRBoom and Legacy.
This is the fourth map in the Blind Alley Series. ;)
The series will be about seven to ten levels.
They will all be released as singles and then combined once the series is finished.
My original design as map 26, now running on level 1.
Don't look for a theme on this one, I don't know if there is one.
I am pretty sure this place only exists in my mind. Artistic license used freely. ;) Some parts have a little Alien Vendetta flavor, other parts have a retro flavor.
A nice medium sized map with decent attention to detail.
You will never have for hunt for ammo in here. That is the least of your problems.
There is enough health and ammo that you can push as hard as you want for time, or
just lay back and snipe at the monsters. Nice to have the option isn't it?
Feedback and/or demos always appreciated.
I have been mapping for about five years. This is the fourth of my levels that I feel is OK
for release. It is a very fun map. Detail is nice, but the concentration here is on gameplay.
Some good old fashioned run and gun in here. Stay awake however, or you could get very dead.
I consider this map somewhat hard in UV. But it contains some very fair fights for the experienced player.
Skill levels could come in handy until you learn the map.
A Legacy version 1.40 LMP is included in the zip file.
File name: BndAlyQ.lmp, The demo is a no monster walk through, showing the layout and the secrets. Use the demo if you get lost.
Use the following to play the no monster demo.
c:\doom2\legacy.exe doom2.wad -file bndalyq.wad -playdemo BlndAlyQ
This assumes your doom2 folder is on your c: drive, and that you have the excellent, free,
Legacy port. Or you can run it from the Legacy Launcher.
