============================================================================== Title : Horror (That should say it all!) ;) Doom II version. Filename : HORROR2.WAD Author : Steve Terry Email Adress : Lemme get back to you on that one... Misc. Author Info : 18 year old genius... heh heh heh...... : Eats, drinks, sleeps, and basically LIVES Doom... : (Would be the same with Heretic, but it gave me : nightmares...) :) : Wondering about Quake? Well, when I get a : computer that doesn't SUCK, I'll get it... Description : This WAD has either no theme, or many themes (I'm still trying to figure it out...) I just threw everything I could think of into this level. (Kitchen sink WAD) NOTES ON MULTIPLAYER: I originaly designed this level for single player only. Then when I got a real modem, I started playing deathmatch and realized that I somehow had to make this level compatible for deathmatch. (You will see why it's not when you play it single player...) I therefore added several "deathmatch" doors. They are all secret doors, so as to not detract from single player play, but can be seen in yellow (or brown) on the map. There is also a giveaway in each texture. (Offlined, slightly different, etc.) The doors require a red key card which you will not be able to find in single player mode. If you try to open a secret and it says it needs a red key card, you have found one of these doors. Don't worry, the secret total will not be affected by these areas. These areas not only make the level deathmatchable, but connect several areas to make the level non-linear. The exit is also a cooperative exit in dmatch. You won't be able to activate it by yourself. It is near the original exit switch, which is blocked in deathmatch. This level can NOT be played cooperatively :( ============================================================================== * Play Information * Episode and Level # : MAP01 Single Player : Yes--Play it like this first, so you get the full effect...and NO CHEATING! :) Cooperative 2-4 Player : I'm afraid not, part of the level design will not allow for more than one player to be roaming the halls...(without the red key) Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes!! This level has been made deathmatchable! See level description above. Difficulty Settings : Yes! If a level doesn't have skill levels, not enough time has been spent making it! New Sounds : No New Graphics : Kind of....I was too lazy to find replacement : textures to put in for the Doom 2 version. : (DM2 is missing a few DM textures) : I just patched the needed ones into the WAD. : (I hope this is legal....) New Music : No Demos Replaced : None, this level is a puzzle from start to finish. (Don't worry, there is PLENTY of action, too) * Construction * Base : New level from scratch. Build Time : Quite awhile (I didn't keep track) Editor(s) used : DCK V2.2 Known Bugs : Not any that I can find...Perhaps a few unaligned textures, but you'll only find a few. Additional Credits to : Everybody responsible for the production of the book titled "Tricks of the DOOM Gurus," for producing such a huge well of knowledge about WAD file design. My brother, who came up with several ideas, including the Satanic room at the end of the initial corridor. (Check out how aligned those textures are!!!) Leo Martin Lim, the author of UAC_DEAD.WAD (Doomsday of UAC) for both the idea for the UAC logo statue, and the invisible sector. (He was, as far as I know, the first to use them.) And of course, the most thanks of all goes to id Software, for making some of the best games I have ever seen! * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use this level as a base to build additional levels, as long as you give credit to me, Steve Terry, for the original level.
