WADs in idGames, HEXEN
GATEWAY TO HELL
I really don't what to call this thing except that it is a little bigger than most of the HEXEN wads I've seen so far, and it is got a lot of action for sure. I don't know how it works in deathmatch, but it LOOKS like a good deathmatch PWAD. Single player is pretty awesome and you pretty much have to fight for your life from the beginning. I couldn't make any teleports work, so they are there but nonfunctional, and also there is no way out of the level. If anybody figures out how to make those damn door things work, let me know. I tried and tried and it kept crashing. Oh yeah, this thing kind of is somewhat of a puzzle as far as aquiring weapons, so it should be pretty frantic finding all the pieces to becoming an all powerful godlike beast.
Hello, this is my first mod. Please don't bite. This is really a simple mod. Two of the biggest complaints I've had with Hexen is that A: the classes don't feel like actual people or characters, and B: for having so few weapons, none of them feel very fun to use. The game quickly became tedious. So, because I really wanted to play Hexen, I decided to make a new class. Enter Terry Holtzer the Ranger, a gunslinger woodsman with a snarky attitude. While many would disparage an inclusion of guns in Hexen, and for very good reason, I tried my best to make the guns have an archaic or medieval feel to them. There's no rapid-fire gatling rockets, no BFG energy weapons that spray ion proton neutrons or other science stuff, it's strictly early black powder, kinetic energy, a lot of historical inaccuracy, and a little magic. Hopefully it works, and hopefully this helps other people to enjoy the underrated game that is Hexen. Thank you very much for your time. Please, have fun.
High Resolution Textures w/o the High Resolution
This is an experiment to see if the high resolution textures actually make better textures than the originals. I took all the textures from the JDTP, resized them to their original sizes and put them in this wad file. Some textures came out looking much better than others. BROWN96 for example looks great, while textures like BRNGRN got its ass kicked by the doom pallete, making it more gray than green. Nonetheless it gives doom a more unique look.
The Blizzard Deathmatch for Hexen
A cool deathmatch wad for Hexen inspired by a snow storm on January 7, 1995. My friends and I have tried it in deathmatch, and it rules! It is the perfect size for deathmatch and the number of artifacts is perfectly balanced throughout the level. The deathmatch takes place in an icy cave where there just happens to be all kinds of weapons and crap thrown around...
