Deathmatch Guns by DoomKid
Am I the only one who likes the thought of a gun mod for Deathmatch that isn't over the top? I've seen many mods out there like Brutal Doom, Real Guns Advanced and even Burl Tumd, and while they're all REALLY fun, they seem to make things just a tad too unbalanced for Deathmatch play. (If you haven't played those wads, go do it now.) The aim of this pack is to keep the guns feeling like classic DOOM guns, while souping them up just a tad and keeping them fair. The fist is now a bayonet that deals just over double damage. The pistol is now a machine gun, so no more running arround with the pea shooter! The shotgun is now automatic, making it a fair fight against the SSG, which is also slightly more powerful. The chainsaw now has 2 blades - the most unoriginal idea in Doom history, but damn, I love it anyway. It deals double damage as well, of course.
Run darn you RUN
THE STORY OF RUN.WAD- As you were cleaning your shoes one day, you did something you never did before: you ate breakfast WHILE cleaning your shoes! Yeah! You are such a rebel! So with one hand you cleaned the shoe by holding the tongue of the shoe with your 4 fingers and your thumb scrubbed the shoe with the rag. The other hand, you where holding your chocolate sandwich and munching away on it. Then, as if your creative mind was in the zone, you had another equally brilliant idea: Eat and clean shoes with the ONE HAND! So you held the shoe the same way as before, except your palm was rubbing the shoe with the rag and your thumb held the sandwich against the shoe. "Man, I gotta patent this!" you think. Then, from that same creative lightning bolt that got you the first 2 times, you get another equally brilliant idea: Why don't I EAT my shoe! So you drop the half eaten choc sandwich and you start to eat the shoe. First the laces, then the hard base, and then the rest of it. 10 minutes after you eat the shoe, some shoe being materialises infront of you. "YOU!" says the shoe being, who points his withered hand at you. "Y...yes?" you murmer. "You stand accused of eating my people!" "What?" You are quite startled, seeing this shoe shaped creature. "You ATE, thats right ATE- not hurt, mistreated- but ATE one of my fellow brethren" "Oh... sorry! I didn't mean to! Honest! I... I was just trying out something new!" "Then try water polo, get a job in tourism- Things like that are something new, NOT CANABALISING A SHOE!!" You feel ashamed all of a sudden. This shoe creature had a point. "I feel bad, shoe monster sir, how can I make it up to you?" "Hmmm..." The shoe creature thinks. "I have just the perfect idea..." "What is it?" "You must prove yourself worthy of forgiveness. You must face... THE TEST!" "Test?" "Yes, one that will make you learn to LOVE MY KIND!" Suddenly your world explodes with light and you are transported elswhere, to some other reality, with a long hallway infront of you with lights on the ground and ceiling. You can't inspect the place much, because suddenly a whole batalion of skiny skeleton freaks magically appear behind you. "...RATS!" you shout as they start shooting mini comets at you. You turn, and run. Run run run. No stopping to smell the roses. 'A test that will make you learn to LOVE MY KIND!' said the shoe creature. And perhaps, if you survive this place, you may indeed love the shoe again, as you look down at the ends of your feet and see what helps you run.
Death Summoning (Legacy) - Map01: Complex Entryway
This is the first map of my current project, Death Summoning. Since I seriously doubt I'll ever actually finish this project, I've decided to release the project map by map, as each map is finished. Being the contest-hungry soul that I am, I polished up this beta for a contest going on over at doomcenter.com for the best level that's done in the E1 style. I still have to do a little more testing with enemies and objects and all, but it should give you a couple minutes of fun if nothing else.
2-8 Player DM (4-starts + 4randoms), replaces E2M1. Players start behind closed doors, outside the doors is a Pit full of Imps (10 in total). There are two 'safe havens' either side of the pit, and there are teleporters in the pit which will take you to the top again. Surrounding the areas ajoining the pit, there is a small circular maze including a throne room(nasty!), a courtyard with a tower and a lava moat. It is imperative that you have the monsters in and set on respawn & fast when DMing. Just play the level by yourself on NiGHTMARE first, to get the idea of WHY you should have monsters respawning/fast (NiGHTMARE DM). All weapons and Power Ups are available. Decent amount of health, although most health is in blue bottles or Beserker power ups. The level is fully circular interms of the way it "flows".
Newmaps: A Chex Quest Mod
This is the final version of Newmaps. Newmaps is a Chex Quest mod (*cough*) based on The Ultimate Chex Quest. In May 2005 I came across The Ultimate Chex Quest. Then I saw some of the fanmade maps and thought: "Hey! Why don't I try my hand at making Chex Quest levels?" And so Newmaps was started. In June of 2005 I released the first beta which only had the first two maps complete. Back then, I only planned to make five or so levels, but then I started making more and more and it became this big thing. I don't even want to think of how many hours I put into it. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I had making it for you. (Man, how many times has this been said before?) (NOTE: If you just play the first few levels and decide it's too boring and stop playing, don't. Remember, I had just learned to map when I made those. The later ones are much cooler!)
