Description : FORGET THE DESCRIPTION ALREADY!!! This is DOOM!!
You kill things 'cause you want to.....'cause you
have to! (Check out KILLME 1-3 text files if you
really want a story line!) If you really want the
story, e-mail me and I might send you the long
                          version.

Why you want this WAD : If you tried KILLME1, KILLME2, or KILLME3 you'll
want this because the game play is better (UV is
more difficult and easy is easier (except for E1
which was insanely easy at any skill level), minor
texture mistakes have been corrected, lines have
been realigned with the grid, lighting has changed,
dozens of new rooms have been added to most of the
levels (there were some levels I thought didn't need
many extra rooms, but every level has been
extensively overhauled), plus, of course, you get
the wonderful KILL-ME.BAT file! The original KILLME
                          trilogy was 3.9 k, the new KILL-ME is 5.3 k.
Seriously, if you played any of the first three
KILLME WADs and liked them, you'll like the complete
set with all the changes. If you never heard of the
KILLME WADs before, now's your chance to get them
all (new and improved!) without fooling around with
                          three downloads.

Zip file contains : KILL-ME.WAD, KILL-ME.TXT and KILL-ME.BAT.

Additional credits to : My wife for letting me spend all the time I did on
this, my son and his friends for testing, and
                          coffee, lots of coffee ;-)
It would also be unfair to not thank the guys at ID
for making DOOM as well as the creators of the
editors I used. Thanks also, to the good folks at
CD-ROM.com for providing us DOOMer's with a site at
which we can post all this stuff (Howcome no one
                          ever thanks them?).
Thank you all, very much. I've had fun (and likely
wasted a goodly portion of my life!).

* Play Information *

New level WAD for DOOM I

Episode and Level # : E1M1 - E3M9 (27 NEW levels).
Single Player : Yes
Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes (but not tested; co-op starts on all levels).
Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No (Sorry, die by monsters, not your friends).
Difficulty Settings : Yes (much more challenging than KILLME1, 2 or 3).
New Sounds : No, the originals were great.
New Graphics : No, Why? I was going to change all the titles for
every level as well as the opening screen when the
game starts, and then I thought, the play is the
thing, not the titles. Some people out there with
very fancy opening screens might want to consider
                          this....
New Music : No, the original music was great too.
Demos Replaced : E1, E2, E3 (Even though this spoils some surprises)
Completed : December 1996 with edits, fixes, rebuilds and add-
ons and testing for this release until November 17,
                          1997.

* Construction *

Base : New levels from scratch.
Build Time : Unknown, probably 20-30 hrs per episode, including
edits and testing. A long time at any rate!
Editor(s) used : Deu 5.21, Deth 3.92, DCK 2.2, and BSP 1.2x. These
are all great editors, but I started with Deu and
still like it the most. All the levels were at the
maximum for Deu when first released as KILLME 1-3.

Known Bugs : None (I think I got 'em all).
Note: not run on anything less than a 16 Meg Ram
486DX/33 so there may be a potential problem on
                          some machines.

* More info on the levels *

To start this WAD and see the demos, type "kill-me" once you are in the DOOM
directory.

This is the complete three complete level set which were released one mission
at a time as single E*M* WADS. We wanted feedback, and luckily, a few people
did take the time to write and say they enjoyed it. Actually, luckily anyone
even found them considering the amount of WADs out there. Thanks guys (don't
women play DOOM? No! Too busy playing Barbie!). There are some swastikas in
the game, but I am by no means promoting anything or trying to offend anyone;
just trying to be like the original game which promoted evil things from
another dimension that must die! There is also a message to DIE on one level,
but I am also not promoting the idea that anyone do that on purpose (in the
game or in real life), especially not while playing this level (I can see the
lawyers having fun with that one, "Your Honor, my son's client was found dead,
slumped over his computer with the message to "DIE" clearly visible on the
computer screen")!

This is DOOM the old fashioned way, the way I still like to play it; alone.
Hopefully, this will give other people a chance to play it their favourite way
too and may bring back some of the fun we all experienced when we first played
DOOM. This WAD will NOT require any changes to your original WAD; it will not
change the original configuration of your DOOM.WAD or INI files. Your rewards
for reading all this; look for candles, they usually mean a secret door or
switch (or you just let something loose from somewhere), and, all levels have
some areas marked as secret, even if they're no secret at all (so if you
finish a level and the "secret" doesn't read 100%, you know you missed
something!). A final warning, there are many booby-traps in these levels (the
aliens are getting smarter, and you thought they were s-o-o-o stupid)!

What's next? : Without getting too overblown here, I always wanted
to finish this and move along to something new. Now that
the moonbases are safe, you hear reports about all Hell
breaking loose on Earth. You discover that "they" have been
getting help from sympathizers on Earth all along and you
know you're the only man that can stop them....
This is, of course, all leading up to the WAREHOUSE.WAD
which will likely be released as KILLME4.WAD (By the way, as
I write this, it is almost finished so the release time for
it should not be too far off). In it, you'll do your best
to stop the invasion of Earth, but of course, will be
                  unsuccessful.
This leads the way to DOOM2, "Hell on Earth", and that's
where I'll be going after the Warehouse is complete.
So....if you're in the market for some DOOM2 singleplayer
WADs (maybe even a converted version of KILLME, with the 5
extra levels of course), look for me in the DOOM2 aisle of
your favourite FTP site in the near future. Oddly enough,
I'll likely be in the KILLME section.
DOOM Lives!!!!! (but so does DOOM2).

* Copyright / Permissions *

Authors MAY use this level as a base to build additional levels providing you
give me credit for the base level. However, like some WAD author said not
long ago in his level, "I really don't think anyone cares much anymore".

You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include this file, with no
modifications. You may distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS,
Diskette (Daddy, what's a diskette? Never mind son, besides, even zipped this
file is too big for one diskette, and you'll have a hell of a time splittin'
it.), CD (Oh yea, when was the last time a DOOM compilation CD was released;
1993?), etc.) as long as you include this file intact.

* Where to get this WAD *

FTP sites: ftp.cdrom.com and mirrors (see the most recent DOOM FAQ) and
wherever else you found it (All KILLME wads were originally only
            released to CDROM.com).
