Title : DaleksDOOM (MiniConversion)
Filename : DALEKS.WAD, DSPRITES.WAD
Author : Alden Bates.
Email Address : [email protected]
Misc. Author Info : Writer of many DeHackEd patches
                          Author of NAFF.WAD
Employed as a Computer Programmer. Has a BSc.
Currently working on a 32 level DOOM ][ replacement

Description : Daleks. You've heard of them haven't you?
Doctor Who, Exterminate and all that.
Nobody said they were real. That was your reaction
when a UCA operative woke you early in the morning
and told you to take a patrol craft to a remote
planet at the edge of Earth's sphere.
Seems a colony space-craft intending to land there
was shot down. Before communications cut out
suddenly and overly dramatically, the pilot reported
a large city had been sighted.
A short flight later and you arrive there. Ignoring
the fact that you had passed 50 other UCA patrol
vessels on the way, you land in a covert operation at
night. As you begin to explore, you realise that
someone behind the scenes is helping you...

* Construction *

Base : I nicked some sounds from DRWHO.WAD on infant2...
The Daleks were based on Dave Lobser's Dalek patch.
Editor(s) used : DoomEd 2.6, DEU 5.21, dmgraph, dmaud, dmmus, qbasic

Known Bugs : Well... It _would_ be nice if the Daleks didn't
                          shoot each other. :-)

Miscellaneous junk:

demos: the first demo is me going insane with the chainsword. (yeah, I know I
only changed the graphic before you pick it up. This is low budget.)
The second is me trying to get through level 2 and failing in a polystyrene
rock fall.

general: I intended to change the chainsaw graphics, and turn the Baron into a
Special Weapons Dalek, as well as extending to cover the first episode.
However, time constraints stop me from doing this. You are welcome to make
any modifications as long as you acknowledge that I made the original.

Updated notes: I made this 1-2 years ago, and the levels are not
challenging since I wasn't that good at DOOM then. Also I was limited to
4 monsters. However, I compared playing with and without the changed
graphics, and it was easier without them...
I dusted this off a couple of days ago, and discovered that the graphics
patch wasn't working and the second demo goes wrong halfway through,
which is bizarre, because the only differance is that I'm running it on a
faster computer now.
