================================================================ Title : Casualties of War Version 3.0 Filename : CASWAR3.WAD (w/all sounds) CASUAL3.WAD (w/"G" rated sounds) Author : Mike Breeden Email Address : [email protected] SnailMail: : Mike Breeden Rt 4 Box 4545 Ruckersville, Va 22968 Level(s) Info : Levels 1 & 2 are primarily designed for deathmatch, but very good for co-op (suggest skill 4) and single play also. Level 3 designed as primarily a co-op/single play level. But hell, it might be the best deathmatch Wad of the bunch, I'm too tired to think now. Details on each level follows: Map01 info : Not a lot of gimmics to get in the way of "Hide-n-Seek" good deathmatch play & sized right too. Use -nomonsters switch if desired. Deathmatch at skill level 2 designed for shotguns & chainguns only. Deathmatch at level 3 has lotsa weapons. Lots of 2-way walls, etc for ambushes. Timed sectors release surprises. (Better finish in <5 min. unless you like fighting the Arch-Vile..;) Map02 info : I finished this level in one all-nighter, "Bad Nite Out" (initial creation), + about 8 hours of chgs. It's deathmatch sized, no keys reqd, but lots of switches for moving sectors (w/items), etc. Skill 4/5 has Icon thrower w/monster teleports and is probably the only reason to play co-op, (Very tough going it alone here). Lighting level in main outside sector dimmed in this version to add some "surprise" elements. Hint: Teleports have 4 sides. Map 03 info : The largest of the three levels, custom crushers, "The Crush" secret rooms & lots of weapons. Hidden sectors with monster-only teleports to keep areas "populated". I'll be improving/expanding this level later, but it's not bad as it is. Hint: Some areas will require several visits to complete the level. Watch your step for directions. I know the sounds get a little "busy" sometimes...but still worth it, I feel. Comments/Suggestions appreciated. (Too hard? Too easy? Weapon balance? Map02 lighting outside a plus/minus?) >>>>** IF THE SOUNDS FROM CASUALTIES OF WAR OFFEND YOU, DO NOT PLAY THIS WAD ** THIS WAD IS DESIGN FOR ADULTS ONLY. USE THE INCLUDED WAD "CASUAL.WAD" WHICH HAS THE OFFENSIVE SOUNDS REMOVED FOR A "G" RATING. **<<<< Description : OK, OK here's the story for ya... Sgt. Meserve has just been released from serving his sentence of 10yrs hard labor. He may have paid his debt to society, but he hasn't wiped The Punisher's slate clean. He's about to step into another dimension; and this time he won't be in control. He'll be at the mercy of endless cherries and FNG's, walking into ambushes and death only means starting over. Welcome SGT Meserve, to the Tour of Duty that never ends - the PATROL INTO HELL... Additional Credits to : Play testers: Landru, Tim Huffman (Mr.Bimmer) and the Punisher Babe. Landru for the music (& patience w/my changes to it). Id (of course), Ben Morris for DCK, DMaud, NWT & RMB authors. Columbia Pictures for the movie sounds. Marvel Comics for The Punisher attitude. ================================================================ * Play Information * Game : DOOM II Episode and Level # : Map 01,02,03 Single Player : Yes (I've won at level 4, but it's tough) Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes (skill level 4/5 needs it, esp. map02/03) Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes (see map info above) Difficulty Settings : Yes (see map info above) New Sounds : Yes (Crank it up!)
